Story from the Post & Courier:
With more than 4,000 bottles of wine, Bottles Beverage Superstore in Mount Pleasant boasts the greatest wine selection in town. A sampling of some of store’s best varieties will be available at the Bottles Wine Retail Shop at this year’s Charleston Wine + Food Festival.
Don’t miss Bottles in the Culinary Village from March 2-4. As the official wine retail sponsor for the festival, Bottles will be offering non-stop samples of many of the wines from wineries and winemakers participating in the festival.
In addition to exclusive tastings with winemakers, guests can purchase wines to take home. Or, they can pop the cork on a new favorite to sip while enjoying the festival, says Mike van Beyrer, wine director at Bottles.
More than 300 wines will be available in the retail tent along with some specialty items like Hardscoop, alcohol-infused ice cream made right here in Charleston.
“We’re very much about variety,” van Beyrer says. Plus, they like to promote other local businesses and products sold at Bottles.
Expect to find a number of rosé wines at the Bottles tent to complement the Rosé Garden in Marion Square where glasses of everyone’s favorite pink wine will be flowing.
This is the fourth year Bottles has been involved with the Charleston Wine + Food, continuing a partnership that gives festival attendees a chance to purchase featured festival wines, but also puts Bottles center stage as a locally owned business with a top-notch wine selection.
“We think of ourselves as one of the premier retailers in town for wine,” van Beyrer says. “Participation in the festival gives us that gravitas. And it’s good to get in front of the locals. We like to think of ourselves as the locals' wine shop.”
After swirling a glass in the festival tent, stop by the Bottles Beverage Superstore at 610 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant to shop their great selection of wines, beers and spirits. Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday
